In a constellation workshop, you can participate either as a client or as a representative. Both roles offer unique and valuable insights.

Getting Started

If you’re new to the process, we begin with practicing representation—often through smaller constellations. This helps you understand how your body responds to others and notice subtle shifts. We usually start with a group meditation or visualization to bring everyone into a centered state.

The Client’s Experience

As a client, you and I will sit together while the group forms a supportive circle around us. We’ll explore the issue or desire you’ve brought. If family members are involved, we keep the information simple, sharing just basic facts like who was ill, who passed away young, or who might have been excluded from the family.

As Bert Hellinger, the founder of Family Constellations, said: “A family constellation is one method of making the hidden dynamics in a family visible.” These hidden patterns often cause us to repeat behaviors or feel stuck. By revealing and resolving them in a constellation, you can experience profound healing. We work with the unconscious so it is important to be clear that we bring simple facts rather than our interpretations to a constellation. This way we allow the untold to show itself, widening perspective and from this we can integrate a new way of seeing that can offer profound healing.

The Role of Representatives

In the workshop, representatives are intuitively chosen from the group to represent family members. They are placed in relation to one another based on how things “feel right.” As they tune into their roles, they may experience emotions or sensations that reflect the hidden family dynamics. While these feelings may not be literal truths, they provide important insights to help guide the healing process.

The constellation process has two main phases:

1. Uncovering the hidden dynamics that are causing suffering or illness.

2. Finding movements and statements that bring resolution and healing.

As we work, we’ll bring understanding to the unacknowledged parts of your family system and include those who were left out. This process often brings relief, relaxation, and a sense that things are finally in their right place.

Together, we’ll move at a pace that feels right for you and your ancestors. In a balanced family system, love flows more freely across generations, giving you support as you move through life. This newfound balance helps you pass on love, compassion, and empathy to your children, your community, and live a more harmonious and fulfilling life.
