4 Top Family Constellations Facilitators Based in UK

How to choose a Family Constellations facilitator that is right for you.

Heard about Family Constellation work and wondering who to work with? Many say that they simply trust their gut instinct. Or that a facilitator’s name just keeps popping up on their radar and at some point they take the plunge and book a workshop.

If we are aligned to our soul’s purpose, we find what we need when we need it. We can truly trust our gut instincts and this decision is part of the journey. It is also true that family constellation facilitators have a wide variation of training and experience and these things help.

So, to guide yourself to your best facilitator bear in mind a couple of things:

How much experience of facilitating has the person had?

How long and how often have they been facilitating groups - this is how we develop the skills of systemic facilitation. In my experience the most helpful facilitators I have worked with have developed their practice over many years and have brought many other skills to their practice. Facilitators get more at ease with holding what appears in the field and develop a keen awareness of how to do less, and to accept that the field will show what needs to be seen when it is ready to.

An experienced systemic therapist/ facilitator will be working to help you tune into your body, to listen and see what the field is showing you. They will have empathy and attunement and to be able to hold this for the individual, the group and themselves, this develops over time. They will have developed the ability to work in the present moment, phenomenologically. And to keep an open awareness of all that is going on in the room and the environment outside too.

Creating a safe space involves talking about confidentiality, time boundaries, personal boundaries and boundaries for the group - this comes with practice and experience.

What do others say about the facilitators?

Most of us have reviews on our websites, many of us write blogs and post on social media - take a look.

How much personal work have they done and do they continue to do this?

Personal work will give a facilitator the ability to know their limits, their blind spots and places that they are likely to get pulled into the field themselves. They will have tools to manage this and be well practiced at using them.

You can ask about all these things before attending a workshop to build confidence in your decision. Most facilitators will offer contact through a phone chat or by email. Check that they get supervision.

4 Family Constellation Facilitators to Consider Talking To.

1. Nic Johnson Constellations Live

I have practiced Family Constellations facilitation for many years. I have been doing continuing and quality, extended training with Barbara Morgan, both for the practice and supervision it gives as well as the personal development, for the last 8 years.

The training with Barbara is very thorough and I have been one of her apprentices for the last 6 years, mentoring students and being part of the leadership team. I have been facilitating my own workshops, both online and in-person since completing my first training in 2016. My background is as a graduate scientist (as a pharmacist) and a homeopath.

My approach to facilitation in workshops is to attune to the present moment and the field with meditation, visualisation and embodiment exercises. We practice representation so when we start we all know what we are doing. I work with people new to the work, those with more experience and students too. I keep most of my workshops to a max of 12 - many first timers feel more comfortable with this size of group. At the larger venue I can accommodate more, but I love the intimate feel of a group of 10 - 12.

I choose who will work by intuition and charge the same for all attending because each constellation works for every one of us.

Come along to one of my workshops if you live in the South West of UK. I run workshops in Bristol, Frome and from a retreat centre in Queen Camel in Somerset. I run weekend retreats, one day workshops and 1-1 sessions on line and in person from my practice room in Bristol and Frome. I will be assistant trainer on the 2026 training with Barbara Morgan, you can join me there too for the best experience of this work. On the training we are a group of between 20 and 30.

I offer free 15 minute phone chats so contact me through my website. [Here]

2. Barbara Morgan Coming Home

Barbara Morgan is a Master Facilitator, one of the leading facilitators in the UK and Internationally too. She runs beginner’s trainings and advanced trainings in Romania, and UK currently.

Barbara trained as a Gestalt Therapist before discovering Bert Hellinger and Systemic Family Constellations. She followed Hellinger as he ran intensives around Europe and found her life’s work in what he was teaching. She has been my teacher for 9 years now and I am a big fan, her gentle ways, her acceptance of all that is, as it is (including myself!) has been extraordinary to experience. Yet if needs be, she can provoke and she is a master of moving clients gently into their discomfort to feel their pain.

Her Gestalt training and work has led her to work freely with emotional expression without judgment. Francesca Mason Boring says of her “Difficult family destinies taught Barbara both a capacity for stillness and the ability to stand with those who are going through fire.”

If you get a chance to attend a workshop with Barbara go and see how she works.

Barbara’s workshops tend to be quite large, usually between 20 to 30 people. With Barbara you learn as you go, she gives teaching points as she facilitates.

Barbara runs weekend workshops in UK twice a year - the next one is April 2026. Her next training begins in May 2026 and runs for 18months. Constellations Camp is a 5-day intensive that she runs every summer too. See her website for more information: [WEBSITE] You can contact Barbara through her website.

Barbara no longer does 1-1s.
